Recycled water used to wash down buildings

4 March 2008

COUNCIL owned buildings around Ipswich will undergo their annual maintenance over the next six weeks.

Mayor Paul Pisasale said however the contractors doing the work would be using recycled water for the task which will take place between March and April.

Buildings which will be worked on include: the RSL Memorial Hall (63 Nicholas Street, Ipswich), Humanities Building (56 South Street, Ipswich), Ipswich Art Gallery and Community Art Gallery (116 Brisbane Street, Ipswich), Civic Hall (50 Nicholas Street Ipswich), Administration Building (50 South Street Ipswich), Ipswich Library (40 South Street Ipswich) and the Hayden Centre (37 South Street Ipswich).

"Some of the building will simply require a wash down, while others will be washed down befoe they are repainted.

"All of the water being used to wash down the buildings is recycled water," Cr Pisasale said.
