Queensland Symphony Orchestra – TWO magnificent concerts in 2014

It is with pleasure that we present two very special musical evenings at the Ipswich Civic Centre this year by our very own State Orchestra in their first visit to Ipswich for over 20 years. Come and hear the full symphonic power of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra as they play music you know and love.

Both concert programs are UNIQUE to Ipswich – you will not be able to hear the same program by the Queensland Symphony Orchestra anywhere else in Queensland or in the Concert Hall at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre. And at only $55.00 for an adult ticket this is half the price you would pay to hear the Queensland Symphony Orchestra in Brisbane.

A nostalgic musical play about a Brisbane suburb that disappeared

Affectionately known as “Cribbie”, Cribb Island is Brisbane’s own lost paradise.

The charming seaside suburb was once an idyllic holiday destination; but post-depression it became home to a tightly-knit community of colourful Aussie battlers drawn together by poverty, adversity and a deep sense of connection. In the 1980s, the community was forcibly removed to make way for the Brisbane International Airport. Homes were bulldozed and residents were left devastated.
