Having recently enjoyed a tour up north with the prestigious Conservatorium jazz vocal ensemble Invoices singer, songwriter and teacher Imogen Faith is establishing herself as a proven performer. The elite ensemble is led by eminent Brisbane pianist and vocalist Dave Spicer and over the years the group has turned out acclaimed vocalists such as Dami Im and Elly Hoyt. Inspired by the sounds of jazz, fusion, funk and r&b Imogen seamlessly blends and alternates between them creating a sound that is uniquely hers.
Currently, she is guided by world renowned Australian performer and educator Dr Irene Bartlett in reaching her objective of developing her vocal technique and engaging stage persona. Having supported local bands and artists such as iii trio and Kate St Big Band has demonstrated her versatility in her ability to sing a wide range of styles. Having sung from the tender age of 7 and grown up in a musical family she has always had passion for music and currently enjoys sharing this with a growing number of private students at esteemed private school King’s Christian college.
Imogen is eager to release her own album of original music and arrangements in the future. She is soon to be a graduate of the bachelor of music program in jazz performance at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University (QCGU). In the future Imogen looks forward to continuing her musical education in a Masters of Pedagogy at QCGU to better equip her teaching toolbox.
