Eli Anderson knows how his own story ends, he’s thought it over about a million times. Desperate to free himself of an overbearing father and cold older brother, Eli escapes one evening with the desire to see Uluru for the first time. That is until he’s caught by Benji Hatchet, a runaway loner with more than enough words to share, as they embark on the road trip of a lifetime across Australia. Secrets, lies and 70’s rock hits entangle and intertwine as both young men struggle to understand who they truly are with the world against them.

One of Australia’s most lauded new works makes its debut with THAT Production Company at Ipswich Civic Centre this August, featuring a star studded cast and crew of Queensland creatives and new emerging talents to watch.

Written by award winning playwright Grace Wilson (GIA OPHELIA) and directed by Artistic Director of multi Matilda Award winning Ipswich theatre company, THAT Production Company, Timothy Wynn (Sea Wall, Head Over Heels, Every Brilliant Thing), GOODBYE, ELI ANDERSON is a story for anyone who has loved and lost.

This project is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland and the Ipswich On Stage program, an initiative of Ipswich City Council with additional support from the Australian Theatre for Young People.
