Presented by Crack That Whip – The DEVO Tribute Show…
Studio 188 is the place to be on August 14, 2026 for a journey back to the 80’s in celebration of the best in new wave!
The main feature of the evening is a headline performance from Crack That Whip – The Devo Tribute Show. The Crack That Whip spuds perform a truly authentic rendition of the Devo catalogue, celebrating the music and stage performance of this iconic new wave band.
As the recent Grammy Award nominated documentary directed by Chris Smith demonstrates, Devo encompasses a multifaceted concept involving sound, visuals and sharp social commentary.
Crack That Whip have honed their performance to perfection, providing a true insight into the Devo philosophy and presentation of the band’s theory of de-evolution. You will be transported back in time to a prime Devo performance from the early 80’s, with signature tracks such as Girl U Want, Beautiful World, Freedom of Choice, Uncontrollable Urge and the most famous one of all, Whip It!
Bookending Crack That Whip’s performance will be DJ sets from Heyday 4ZZZ’s Kristin Black and Madame Æ playing a seamless mix of alternative 80’s.
