2020 Take 2 featuring Avalon Swing

We are ready to usher you back into Ipswich Civic Centre, and raise the curtain for an amazing program of live entertainment, music, dance, drama, comedy and so much more – starring Avalon Swing!

Step back in time for an evening of swing dancing and gypsy jazz at a new musical dining experience.

Avalon Swing are inspired by the great swing era, known to perform from Django Reinhardt’s gypsy jazz playlist, and jazz standards of the swing dance era.

The Avalon swing performers live amongst the gypsy tribes of South East Qld. A rough and tumble world not far from here. Take heed as Avalon Swing pass themselves off as Gentry and have been known to say “We are an art deco inspired celebration of acoustic swing music. We bring a bit of Gatsby and a dash of bohemian gypsy“.

While known to perform pieces from Django Reinhardt’s gypsy jazz playlist, the American songbook, and the jazz standards of the swing dance era. Caution should be exercised at all time amongst this small band of performers. It’s all a front to lift the your spirit, lighten you of your wallet while distracting with a brilliant vibe.

While they usually perform with two swinging guitarist a vocalist, an amazing Electronic Wind player, a pumping bass fiddler and snare this time they have added at your expense a hot gypsy violinist.
