Ipswich Grammar School in collaboration with Ipswich Girls Grammar School proudly presents the musical fantasy production of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory under the direction of Leon Wensley, Barbara Bartz and Danielle McNally.
Charlie Bucket, the humble protagonist of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, navigates his extraordinary journey under the influence of two starkly different role models: Grandpa Joe and Willy Wonka. Grandpa Joe, a beacon of warmth, tradition and adventure, instils in Charlie the values of honesty, empathy, and perseverance, offering unwavering support and guidance. Conversely, Willy Wonka, the enigmatic chocolatier, embodies creativity, eccentricity, power and success, challenging Charlie’s perceptions and broadening his horizons. Despite their contrasting approaches to life, both figures leave an indelible mark on Charlie.
