Studio 188 presents…
The first part of a three-part youth performance skills and music industry development series.
FEEDER encourages emerging artists to fine-tune their musicianship and learn how to plan and perform their best gig from two industry professionals from the Buttery Music School.
All local performers including First Nations performers, performers from diverse cultures are encouraged to apply.
Meet the Mentors
JAYMEE WATKIN
Jaymee is a drumming and happiness queen and the founder of The Buttery Music School. She has spent the past decade performing, writing and recording in numerous musical projects including with Australian songstress Emma Louise.
AARON SHANAHAN
Aaron Shanahan is a musician, songwriter and producer with over 20 years in the music industry. His experience covers touring and recording internationally with Miami Horror, tour managing Australian acts Vera Blue and Allday, to recently working as a music facilitator running workshops, teaching and starting his own organization Imagine Music.
The full day workshop will be tailored to each artist and covers topics like-
- What to do in the weeks leading up to the performance
- How to have good rehearsals
- Who are you as a musician and what do you want to make people feel?
- Designing your set list
- Dealing with nerves
- Preparing yourself and your instruments (tuning, pedals, etc)
- The importance of a good sound check and how to make the most out it
- Dealing with things not going to plan
