Studio 188 Audiences loved seeing Kim Wright earlier this year – now is your chance when Kim Wright joins us for the next episode of Ipswich Civic Centre at home.
Queensland singer-songwriter Kim Wright aims to continue the sound of country pioneers including George Jones, Merle Haggard and George Strait in his music.
“I want to bring back the honky tonk because I love that style of country and that’s what I aspire to do with my own music,” he said.
The married father of two names his family as being his biggest musical inspirations and it is this family-focused style of music that has won him plenty of fans.
“I’m inspired by life and stories people tell me, but most of all I’m a family man.”
Kim gives his fans a variety of traditional country music, from George Strait to Alan Jackson.
Throw in his originals and you have a show not to be missed. The family focused style of Kim’s singing is guaranteed to have the whole family singing and dancing along with him.
A natural born storyteller, Kim expresses himself through his music which relates to the working class man.
Kim’s biggest musical highlights so far have been performing at the 2018 Tamworth Country Music Festival Official Opening Concert and as a semi-finalist in the 2018 Gympie Muster Talent Search.
The country artist is also a regular guest on Brisbane’s 98.9fm with brekky show hosts, Jamie Dunn and Clay Cassar-Daley.
In May 2018, Kim released his debut single, Man of the House, about his young son, his second single, This Old Bar, was released in March 2019, debuting at No. 10 on the iTunes Country Songs Chart and his EP, Livin’ The Dream, was released in July 2019, debuting at No. 2 on iTunes.
