Brisbane indie pop darling Tiarne struck a chord when she emerged last year with captivating vocals and sentimental storytelling landing debut single, Kids, on immediate triple j Unearthed rotation; as well as a finalist spot in the 2017 QUBE Effect Awards. Tiarne’s debut singles and EP, Bloom earned nationwide airplay on community radio, television and film features. 2018 sees Tiarne grow into the next phase of her creative career with the release of a new coming-of-age single, Lights, on 19 October, a song about moving away from friend and family to fully embrace a new city as home.
Fieu (pronounced Fee-yoo) meaning ‘heat’ or ‘fire’ is the alias of Queensland Alt-Pop artist Emily Brewis combining powerful vocals with keyboard synths, ambient electric guitars and energetic drum beats.
Since releasing her debut EP in 2014, Fieu has topped Triple J Unearthed charts, gained national radio play, as well as been recognized for her writing in the International Songwriting Contest and QMusic Awards. Mid May will see the first taste of Fieu’s 2016 release with ‘Impossible’. Featuring a carefully crafted array of lush soaring vocal harmonies, addictive melodies and bright synth-pop foundations, her new songs will place your imagination right in the scene of a Hollywood adventure film.
Allowing yourself to pen lyrics that are brutally candid to your life is a reality for the most open of songwriters, and it’s a world Taleena Peck has willingly thrown herself into. This Brisbane-based indie pop artist has grasped the art of granting gravity to life’s happenings through her ethereal style and tendency to write songs that are painfully honest, raw and cathartic.
Found playing with an accompanying guitarist, this songstress’ sound has evolved from that of a small town, guitar-slinging singer songwriter, to a confident and sultry indie infused performer, tackling the music world one song after another. Taleena’s reputation for writing authentic and unapologetic songs makes for a captivating performance, every time.
