Be charmed by Nimrod which you will know from films Dunkirk and Elizabeth. Barber’s Adagio is profoundly beautiful and enshrined in Platoon, The Elephant Man and even South Park – it’s been sampled, digitalised and rearranged endlessly.

Rachmaninov’s Vocalise is one of the composer’s most cherished pieces with its wandering melody poised above pulsing chords. And of course, Tchaikovsky’s Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from Nutcracker is pure, sweet delight, beloved by audiences.

As the largest performing arts company in Queensland, Queensland Symphony Orchestra plays a vital role in Queensland’s cultural community, giving over 157 live performances across 47 weeks each year to more than 1.6 million people.
