The recently formed Royce Jenner Trio consists of up-and-coming Brisbane-based jazz musicians Royce Jenner (guitar), Joshua Kehoe (organ), and Tom Henderson (drums). Following in the tradition of Wes Montgomery and Jimmy Smith, the Royce Jenner Trio showcase a fresh perspective on jazz, blues, RnB, and soul classics, as well as performing their original music.
ROYCE JENNER
Royce Jenner is an Australian Guitarist and Composer. Growing up, Royce listened to the eclectic range of cassette tapes in his father’s collection, from Australian blues, roots, and folk to funk and pop. He began playing guitar at age 7, followed by singing in early high school. Now based in Brisbane City, Royce completed his Bachelor of Music degree at the Queensland Conservatorium in 2018, where he was fortunate to receive guidance from guitarist Toby Wren and pianist Steve Newcomb. He has had the opportunity to play with guitarists Toby Wren and Jamie Clark, the Con Artists Jazz Orchestra, Queensland Conservatorium’s production of West Side Story, and his peers from the Conservatorium.
JOSHUA KEHOE
Joshua Kehoe is a Saxophonist, Pianist and Organist based in Brisbane, Australia. Josh’s passion for Jazz music developed at an early age under the guidance of world-renowned educators and performers, Ken Stubbs, John Morrison and John Hoffman. At age 10, he fell in love with the saxophone, followed by the love of piano and Jazz organ a few years later. Josh began his career featuring as a soloist in performances across the Northern Rivers area from age 13. Further development of his craft opened doors to exciting performance opportunities later in his career. This includes performing with award winning pianist, Paul Grabowsky, gigging and recording with internationally successful pop group, Parcels, as well as a featured soloist with the Queensland Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra.
TOM HENDERSON
Tom began drumming in 2010 as part of a primary school program. Since then, he’s won numerous awards on a national level (Australian Percussion Eisteddfod) and performed for audiences across a range of genres. Currently, he’s studying at the Queensland Conservatorium alongside band members Royce and Josh, working towards a Bachelor of Music.
