The Dan Ford Quartet

Originally from Canberra, saxophonist Dan Ford followed his passion for jazz and improvised music by studying at the Australian National University’s School of Music, is currently undertaking a Masters program at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University. Dan has since performed at a wide range of events in Europe, and in Australia, including the Queensland Music Festival, the Jazz Festivals of Merimbula, Moruya and Townsville, the Canberra International Music Festival with the Canberra Symphony Orchestra, and at jazz clubs across the country.

Dan performs in a wide range of music genres, including jazz, blues, contemporary pop and rock, and musical theatre. He led his quintet at the popular Summer Sounds concert series at the Australian National Botanic Gardens, and performed live on Canberra’s 92.7 ArtSound FM. He has performed with some of Australia’s finest musicians, including James Morrison, Wilbur Wilde, and David Campbell. Dan can also be heard playing lead alto with the Brisbane Contemporary Jazz Orchestra.

The Dan Ford Quartet presents a collection of original compositions and jazz standards in a distinctive modern jazz style.
