Ipswich’s original music scene takes centre stage in Song Factory – Songwriters Showcase — a celebration of homegrown talent, creativity, and collaboration.

Presented as part of Ipswich City Council’s Hatchery program, this unique event shines a spotlight on the incredible songwriters in our community. Ten original songs, written by local artists, have been carefully selected and brought to life by the powerhouse 9-piece house band, The Knockout Collective, with fresh arrangements crafted by the band members themselves.

Featuring special guest performances from acclaimed artists Damien J Johnson and Milly and the Maths Show, this is an evening that blends storytelling, musicianship, and the unmistakable sound of Ipswich.

From raw ideas to full-stage productions, Song Factory is where local songs become something bigger — bold, vibrant, and ready to be heard.

IPSWICH ONSTAGE SERIES –
Aimed at developing and showcasing the performing arts and stories from Ipswich creatives, Ipswich Onstage offers scheduled 7-day blocks at Ipswich Civic Centre and Studio 188. Artists will receive in-kind access to rehearsal and performance spaces, technical equipment and specialist advice, along with front of house services to present ticketed performances to the public.
