Sit Down Comedy Club brings comedy to Ipswich in the monthly Stitch in the ‘swich series.
This month features a huge lineup of comedians including Dusty Rich, Jemma Bayley, Nan Chen, Brian Freeman, Andrew Dawson, Angela Greensill, and John Peacock!
Dusty Rich
A comedic space-warrior riding a living volcano with one hand whipping the reins and the other gingerly fingering the lava-hot truth that flows freely down all sides – is smothering the world in comedy magma.
His meteoric rise in the Comedy Industry is due to the fact he had learnt to ride meteors at a very young age – a mind meteor, smashing through the atmosphere of mediocre and mundane. Each show is unpredictable and hilarious, leaving audiences gasping for air.
A true original, his style is manic but impactful. The mystical art of comedy bursts through his veins (and mouth) coupled with his razor sharp wit, taking no prisoners. Dusty Rich is, without question, an unnaturally naturally talented comedic anomaly.
Jemma Bayley
Jemma ‘the darling of Brisbane comedy’ Bayley is cute as a button. But don’t let her looks fool you, she packs quite the comedic punch!
With a right hook full of twisted personal antidotes and an uppercut’s worth of whimsical antics, she is sure to have you on the floor rolling. Raw Queensland state finalist, Class Clowns Queensland Runner up and regular Big Fork Theatre Improv star, she’s across it all.
And when she’s not touring she’s back in Brisbane, working on an internationally award winning children’s television show (we can’t tell you which, but it is a true Blue-y Aussie classic). Is there nothing she can’t do? A back flip. She can’t do a backflip. Don’t mention it, she’s quite sensitive about it.
Nan Chen
A local comedian with an amazing style and a killer dead-pan delivery, Nan has truly become a staple of a good night across Brisbane comedy over the last few years!
Brian Freeman
Brian has been performing comedy for almost 10 years now, starting in Townsville, he has since gone on to do professional shows for all the major brands operating in Queensland (Sit-Down Comedy Club, Based Comedy and Kings of Comedy).
Brian always takes the show to a new level when he’s performing, covering subjects from being a disabled man to dating, working hard, funny police encounters and smoking all sorts of fun things.
Andrew Dawson
Andrew Dawson is a Tasmanian-born and Brissy-based comedian who has firmly made his mark on Australia’s comedy circuit with his distinctive blend of storytelling and sharp wit.
Since starting his career warming up live television audiences, Andrew has become one of the faces of Brisbane comedy, a face you may have seen as part of ‘Keytar-ed and Feathered’ with Glenn Stephen in 2017 or alongside Ting Lim in their show ‘The Situation’, or even as part of his own solo circuit.
Now a fixture in Brisbane’s comedy scene, Andrew Dawson continues to entertain audiences nationwide with his witty observations on life’s absurdities and the lessons learned through a series of questionable decisions.
Angela Greensill
The enigmatic Angela Greensill will keep you guessing.
Surprising and a bit messed up, her razor-sharp wit is a sure crowd pleaser. Her punchline driven comedy really packs a punch and should not be missed. Seasoned from performing at venues around the country, this up-and-coming talent is really hitting her stride.
As a professional writer, Angela is known for her well written jokes. Drawing on her colourful life experiences Angela will entertain you with thought provoking premises and a peppering of, ‘Did she really just say that?’ moments… And did she really write all of that about herself…
John Peacock
In 2012, John Peacock was ‘Australian Carpet Cleaner of the Year’. Now he’s a middle-aged man with a bee in his bonnet and several mental health issues. He may also be gluten intolerant. At the age of 44, John worked out what he wanted to do when he grew up. Spending long periods of time alone with his wand (carpet cleaning wand) in his hand gives John time to think about the world. It’s not perfect, the world that is, but he has a plan. It’s not much of a plan in fairness and basically involves telling dick jokes to strangers in an attempt to avoid the hard work that would invariably be involved in actually making the world a better place.
John Peacock is an experienced comic, much sought-after MC, award-winning public speaker, magazine columnist and enduring anchor of breakfast radio on the iconic Byron Bay FM. A modern-day Man for All Seasons, except for summer, which he finds a bit too hot and sweaty.
